Listen To Music While Working

Listening to music while doing my homework increases my productivity. I know a lot of people talk about how music actually inhibits them, but my belief is that music can increase your productivity. The key is to pick the right type of music depending on your own preferences. However, I encourage everyone to listen to music when in need of extra motivation.

Takes Away Stress

In my case, doing work in silence is very unnerving. I have to hear the silence, and it makes me a bit jittery. Music, for me, makes the room feel casual and takes away my stress about doing work. It’s much better than hearing the silence.

Improves Mood

People work their best when they’re motivated or happy. Music is shown to improve your mood, regardless of what genre you listen to. Music can take away a lot of the dread associated with working productively. If you don’t want to listen to music for the entire duration of the work period, at least listen to it when starting and then turn it off.

More Creativity

Whenever I’m working on a project which requires outside-of-the-box thinking, I always play music to get my brain going. This includes PowerPoint, posters, presentations, etc. Music enhances your cognitive flexibility which is needed to come up with innovative ideas! Also, a positive mood is a must-have for creative thinking. Since music is shown to increase mood, it is likely to increase creativity!
